Cheer, Chore, and More

I made it into the play, Curtains, when I auditioned in 2009. I made the Boys Basketball Cheer squad when I tried out two days later.
You know, life isn't exactly simple. Piano on Mondays after cheer practice, basketball games on Tuesdays before play rehearsal, cheer practice and Mutual on Wednesdays, basketball games on Thursdays before play rehearsal, (nothing on Friday, thankfully), play rehearsal on Saturday, and church on Sunday. Not to mention being a seventh grader and being the thirteen-year-old oldest kid of six and having a billion pets.

LOL.

But it was soooo fun!

The cheer season ended on Thursday.

The last game was AmAzInGi!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!

I was seriously praying the whole time that we would win. This was my first time to be a real cheerleader. The boys had to win!!! So we cheered them up loud and strong. Our voices ached.

G. To the O. Yell go. Go.

We were loosing for a long time. In the second half we were finally getting ahead. Everybody was so excited. But then we got behind again. In the last six seconds, we were behind by three. We would need two points. I wanted to cry; I was so much in despair. We had lost. It would be impossible to shoot two baskets in this amount of time.

But then, he shot.

From what I heard, he was so frustrated or something like that that he just threw the basketball without even looking.

Swish.

In literally the last second, the ball went through the hoop- a THREE POINTER! The buzzer went off, and all of Highland was screaming. We went into overtime. By now, the Highland cheerleaders had given up chants. We just screamed and encouraged in no professional way. This last-second tie gave the basketball players the birth of a new energy. We immediately started winning. Mesquite kept fouling us, only giving us more points. When the teams went off to the sides (many times) to plan, some cheerleaders tumbled. Bryton did two roundoff back tucks! Two of the other girls did roundoff backhand springs. I can do that, I just am not comfortable with it on the wood floor. So I did a front hand spring. After that, especially because I can do a bunch of standing backhand springs in row on the mats and grass, Melanie said she was officially gonna start calling me the Katinator. LOL.
And then we won.
Highland was screaming. Everybody from Highland came running to the center, jumping up and down. I'm not kidding, people were getting trampled.
But now Highland seventh grade has won the championships four years in a row. Eighth grade won their game too.

The play starts in about five days. We have been rehearsing a ton. Two days ago we rehearsed for seven hours, today for four, the rest of the week five. We wear our costumes, the live orchestra practices with us, and starting tomorrow we will have to wear all the make up and have out hair done and everything. The whole sha-bob.

It has been really fun!!!

P.s. I will get some pictures ASAP.
