Time to Blossom

  A few weeks ago, Rachel, Kylie Brady, Taylor Heywood, and I went to Time to Blossom.  It was a LDS Young Women's Conference at the Hilton Hotel in Mesa, Arizona, that lasted from Monday, June 14-Friday, June 18, 2010.  We stayed there the whole time- no going home for the night.  We all had a blast and even better got to gain stronger testimonies and know that we are beautiful daughters of a Heavenly Father who loves us and we love Him. 

These were our binders that we took all our notes in.  I have a ton and it will be great to look back at them.

Name tags.  We were in the poppy group.  

While we were there, we made dolls for the orphans in Africa.  Unfortunately, we made three hundred less than the goal of 500, but that still means two hundred little girls get to have their own doll to cherish.  Also, some girls, including us, took pictures... We will be in the New Era!

The speakers were Lindsey Brinton,Sally Brinton, John Bytheway, Vivian Cline, Alexis Flake, Sherrie Nattrass, Heather Sandstrom, April Price and Rachel Steward, Debbie Gubernick, Cami Covey-Doucet, Annika Huish, and Lacey Nymerer.  They were all- hands down- AMAZING!!!! Above is John Bytheway... my favorite!  I am sure you have listened to him before, or at least heard of him.  He is absolutely hilarious, while he could bring the Spirit so great. 

This is Alexis Flake, 2009 Junior Miss Arizona.  It was funny because on the first full day of us being there, she asked if anybody was sitting at the extra chair at our table.  Nobody was, so we let her sit there, not knowing that it was her!  So we got to chit-chat.  Who would think that the one thing we'd talk about with 2009 Junior Miss Arizona is strawberries?  She told me that I looked familiar , and Kylie and I both agreed later that she looked familiar, too, but not from seeing her picture in the binder as a speaker or anything.  We are wondering if she is in our stake.

                                                      

We got to have formal dinners on Monday and Thursday.  Everybody wore Sunday dress.  The meal started off with lemonade, salad, and rolls, then they brought a chicken dish with sides, and then they brought cake.  It was all so good, and we were stuffed! 

There were two fashion shows.  The first one was for everybody, where we were supposed to wear a prom dress.  This man that supposedly was from England (he really wasn't) read our names and some positive characteristics that our parents sent while we each individually walked across the stage. 

 The second fashion show was for any girl who waned to in any outfit they chose.  About twenty girls got to be in the first part, for Downeast Basics.  I was one of them.  We all said that we would be in it in one of the emails Time to Blossom sent us before we came, so Downeast Basis gave us outfits that we would wear and model for the store.

I was so glad that we could go!
